Minutes of the Planning Committee of Mereworth Parish Council held on Tuesday 28 August 2018

3. Questions from members of the public – none

4. Minutes of the previous planning meeting held on 26 June 2018 – These had been circulated and were agreed as a true record. Chairman signed the minutes

5. TMBC Planning Applications
The following three applications had been considered prior to the meeting in order to meet the deadline

1. TM/18/01501/FL – Barons Place Cottage, 202 Willow Wents
Single storey rear extension with two storey side extension
There are concerns with the appearance of the proposed extension – could the entire S elevation be covered with weatherboarding as it is now, rather than leaving new ground floor brick exposed and affecting the balance of the building?
The slit window extending vertically between the two floors also breaks the simple rural pattern of the fairly balanced fenestration.
The present ragstone W end is also in keeping with the local vernacular while the proposed (new) brick end to the extension will probably jar.

S73 to vary conditions 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 12, 13 – pursuant to planning permission TM/01/03739 (Erection of agricultural polytunnels covered with clear plastic sheeting).

3. TM/18/01767/FL and TM/18/01768/LB – 222 Butcher Lane, Mereworth
Planning application and Listed Building Application for Change of cladding and lowering of side window to single storey rear extension and additional roof light to rear of two storey pitch roof pertaining to application 17/01676 and 17/01677/LB

The following two applications were discussed at the meeting

4. TM/18/01865/LB – 91 The Street, Mereworth
Listed Building Application – refurbishment of existing sliding box sash window and replacement of casement windows to loft

(JR) and (PO) had declared an interest in the next item
5. TM/18/01832/FL – Barons Place Farm, Seven Mile Lane
Continued use of land for seasonal workers accommodation including replacement of caravans with portable cabins and provision of ancillary portable showers, laundry and kitchen/recreation accommodation with associated parking space.
OBJECTIONS – With the estimated traffic movements, there are grave reservations about vehicular access/egress onto Seven Mile Lane, this being a busy and dangerous road.
