Mereworth, Maidstone ME18
GARDEN OPEN FOR CHARITY
Andrew and Tessa Wells are most grateful to all who visited their charity garden openings at Mere House in February, March and April.
The weather for all four charity afternoons was kind and since the beginning of the year a total of £3,436.60 has been raised for the National Gardens Scheme. Funds are distributed to the National Gardens Scheme’s beneficiary charities, including Crossroads, Help the Hospices, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, The Queen’s Nursing Institute, the Royal Fund for Gardeners’ Children, the National Trust Gardening Careership Scheme and Perennial (the Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society).
In addition, the sale of teas has raised a further £424.75 for maintenance of the fabric of St Lawrence’s Church, Mereworth.
The garden will be open for the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday 22 October. The garden is open at other times by appointment for groups of ten or more.
